Chi-Poms are intelligent and friendly dogs that are great to have as pets.
Most Chi-Poms are relatively small and will require more attention because of this.
Some effort should be paid to their diet to ensure they are eating the right
food and right portions, as they are easily prone to weight gain. A few
pounds over their intended weight can raise significant health issues. Foods
that we humans eat have far too much fat and other non-digestible fatty acids
which are not suitable for the Chi-Poms digestive system.
You should always try to use the best quality dog food for your Chi-Poms.
Many consumer brands of dog food contain excessive fillers, which have no
nutritional value to your dog. A good branded dog food will have the percentage
of meat contents on the label of the tin. I would recommend Pedigree Loaf for
your Chi-Poms and for your Chi-Pom puppies Pedigree Puppy Food.
This well-known brand has a good blend of vitamins and minerals essential
for your Chi-Poms development. It also helps your dog keep a healthy shiny
coat.
Puppies will benefit more on food that is specially formulated for them.
Pedigree’s puppy food is specially formulated to deliver superior nutrition to
your puppy. It is full of calcium, zinc and natural fibres, which helps your
puppy’s immune system, so they’re ready for anything. The tinned food will also
display on the label the appropriate amount you should give your dog depending
on its size.
Doggy Treats
Everybody loves a treat once in a while, especially your Chi-Pom! Small
treats can be given to your dog, but don’t overdo it. As mentioned before your
Chi-Pom can easily put on weight if given too many treats. Obviously, you will want to give your dog snacks, and
treats are essential for training, especially when you have a growing pup. Choose
healthy snacks and treats, never feed your dog sugary foods, and avoid
processed foods designed for humans. Always make sure your dog has a fresh bowl
of water, with their food or treats.
